Frequently asked questions about wallbox tariffs

You do not necessarily need a separate electricity meter for your wallbox. Our combined tariff lets you supply both your home and your wallbox with electricity. Tariffs for EV charging with a separate dedicated meter are generally cheaper in most cases because reduced grid charges apply.

To estimate the additional electricity consumption of your electric car or plug-in hybrid, you should know how much electricity your car uses per 100 km. For example, if your car uses 20 kWh per 100 km and you drive 15,000 km per year, your additional consumption would be 3,000 kWh.

Yes. In Germany, registering a wallbox with the responsible grid operator is mandatory. Wallboxes with a charging capacity of 11 kW are the most common and only need to be reported, while more powerful 22 kW units require approval.
