Unicef in action against cholera
UNICEF continues to be there for the children of Yemen. As part of its disaster relief, staff on the ground are treating the current cholera outbreaks medically – with anti-diarrhoea medication, cholera beds, care and advice for millions of people. To protect children from infection, Unicef is carrying out oral cholera vaccinations.
Fighting hunger
Every day, girls and boys in Yemen die of hunger. As an aid organisation, Unicef knows which relief supplies best help malnourished children. Unicef treats the starving girls and boys with special therapeutic food: the children receive peanut paste or special milk. Both foods are particularly rich in nutrients and calories. They satisfy hunger and quickly give the children new strength.
