Project profile
Aktion Deutschland Hilft
Donation for worldwide coronavirus emergency aidAid for people in need continues – with all necessary precautions and despite all restrictions. The world's crisis regions must not be forgotten because of the coronavirus outbreak. Together with their international networks, aid workers are working flat out to ensure that people in poor countries affected by war or natural disasters are cared for and to prevent the virus from spreading further. Health systems there are weak. Without support from aid organisations, the virus can spread quickly. The more people fall ill, the harder it becomes to treat them all.

This is how the coronavirus emergency aid helps
In Germany and in numerous countries worldwide, the alliance organisations of Aktion Deutschland Hilft have expanded their relief measures and adapted them to the coronavirus pandemic. These include hand-washing stations, sanitary materials and hygiene kits to reduce infections, as well as health care provided by mobile medical teams, vaccinations and medicines against preventable diseases that would further weaken people's state of health.
Why coronavirus emergency aid is important
Experts from aid organisations and the United Nations fear the worst for countries where people already lack so much. Where war, displacement and poverty prevail, families are particularly vulnerable to disease and its consequences – all the more so to a highly contagious virus like the coronavirus.
